Deploying ARK Flood Barriers
Preparation
Where possible, make sure the identified deployment area is clear of large obstructions i.e. large rocks, branches, etc.
Deployment
Remove ARK from bag (if supplied) or release storage strap and unroll.
Can be rolled out straight or in curves
Large 80mm tank fittings are to be at top on each section before filling
If using multiple sections, place joiners approximately 1m under ARK before beginning to fill
Roll out second section end-to-end of previously laid out ARK.
Secure two clips together at bottom edge (this will ensure there will be no gaps between sections when full).
Secure joiner by wrapping around two ARK modular sections and zipping together.
Ensure two bottom base valves are in closed position.
Ensure four top tank fittings are in open position before filling.
Always fill ARK from lowest point if deployed on sloping ground.
Fill until water exits opposite end of ARK from filling point.
Close all valves and apply caps to seal water in.
Double check all valves top and bottom are closed before moving on to next section.
Emptying/Storage
To empty ARK simply open lower valves and water will slowly release.
There is no hurry to empty ARK. Wait until water threats subside if possible and flood waters have receded.
ARK water can be used for clean-up, gardens, etc but is not suitable for human consumption.
Rinse off and wipe down exterior of ARK as outer may be contaminated by flood waters.
Remove all water and allow to air dry.
Roll up ARK and place back in bag (if supplied). If no bag supplied, roll up and secure with storage strap.
