As part of Auckland Transport’s extensive Matiatia Wharf renewal works on Auckland’s Waiheke Island, Tarpaulin Makers manufactured and installed replacement canopies along the full west and south sides of the ferry terminal.
We also designed and installed new canopy sections along the front of the terminal building to extend the shade and shelter components, and oversaw remedial sandblasting and repainting works to the existing structures.
The project is one of our largest yet. The sheer scale and logistics of it – planning for working remotely on an island, facing (wet and windy) weather impacts and working around day-to-day operations at Auckland’s second busiest ferry terminal – was a great learning experience.
We are really proud of the result … and ready for the next challenge.
